"Kai" signing "cookie"!

WeeHands Instructor, Mabel Contreras-Wong is a proud mom to two signing boys Phoenix and Talon. She has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Seneca College and continues to learn American Sign Language (ASL) with the Canadian Hearing Society. In 2009, Mabel completed ASL 103 at with the Canadian Hearing Society in Toronto.

Mabel is familiar with the benefits of using American Sign Language because of her experience as an Early Childhood Educator and an Educational Assistant for those with special needs. Mabel has been an educational assistant with the Toronto District School Board for 10-years and is also a part-time student at Ryerson University in the Disability Studies Program.

Here Mabel's youngest shows an approximation of the sign for "cookie" and the sign for "please". Yes, he'll get a cookie but check out the look of happiness and satisfaction on his face...adorable!

Check out Mabel's class schedule if you are looking for WeeHands classes in Toronto or York Region. Mabel (pronounced "may-bell") is an amazing teacher!
