Welcome to Gail in NJ!

Welcome to our newest WeeHands Instructor, Gail Testa!

Gail Testa had heard about the emotional and developmental benefits that signing with babies promised and started signing with her daughter when she was born. Falling in love with the language, Gail went on to study American Sign Language at Union County College in New Jersey.  She got her start teaching children sign language at The Montclair Cooperative School where administered a successful ASL/Early Reading Program and facilitated the integration of signing into the school's Pre-K and Kindergarten classroom's daily activities. While living in Italy for two years, Gail has used ASL as language bridge to teach English and art.  Now that she and her family are back in NJ, Gail works as a consultant integrating signing into early childhood programs, and is currently in full swing at The Children's Studio in East Rutherford.

Gail shares, "I starting signing 12 years ago when my daughter was born and we both have been signing ever since.  ASL is  a language bridge for non-verbal infants to communicate, but it is so much more than that. I  look forward to sharing the  benefits and the joy  of signing, not only with children, whom I love to teach, but with their parents, daycare center caregivers and school teachers.
