Does Tinkerbell Talk?

During the holidays my family got to see Disney On Ice Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. My daughter was thrilled! I was hesitant to see how my 10 year old (sigh, he's 10!) would react to the show. When I asked him as the show was on he responded by not taking his eyes of the ice, "Yes, I really like it". Whew, score points there for not growing up too fast!

For great photos of the show, please visit our friend Jackie's blog. I must remember to snap some photos the next time we're at a show like this!

We were all impressed by the show itself...there was a HUGE Ursula the Sea Witch (scary!) and a massive crocodile that ate Captain Hook (funny). My neighbhour's Christmas inflatable lawn ornaments are nothing compared to these!  I was also impressed by the staff at the show because it seems the Disney professionalism extends off the ice to the ushers (helping me find the nearest popcorn stand) and to the concession sales folks (apologizing for a technical glitch at the start of the show).

The thing I enjoyed most about the show was watching Sabrina's face while she watched the show. She was enthralled!  I had to laugh towards the end of the show when she leaned over and said, "Mommy, I think you need to help Tinkerbell".  While I was trying to figure out what the heck my 8 year old daughter meant, "Did she think that Tink's rigging was about to give out?", she whispered to me, "Nobody understands her, mommy, you may have to teach her some signs".

Hmmm, I wonder if Disney would like to get involved with WeeHands so that we can teach Tink, fairy friends and all the Lost Boys how to sign! Just need a little pixie dust to get us there!
